When you own your own paper company, the sky really is the limit on throwing a cool and totally decked out party…for a one year old! The theme: Where the Wild Things Are. Here’s the run down of what we put together to make a special little wild thing, have the best first birthday ever!
Invitations were custom designed using a Wild Thing “look alike” and a groovy argyle pattern we made. Each invite was mailed in a hand lined envelope (we used pages from the book to do this and it was adorable!)
The smash cake and cupcakes were custom decorated to match the invites and turned out absolutely perfect, and tasted smashing, too! Luke dug into his cake…no fear!
The food table was full of green, orange, yellow and blue foods for both kids and adults alike. All the food was “mini” so that all the Wild Things at the party could munch on some snacks.
The table runner and table cloth were handmade by Patty Sage, the most talented mom in the world. She got matching fabric and rick rack and away she went!
The centerpieces were adorned with ivy leaves and greenery to accent our cute Wild Thing dolls.
The napkins (custom designed) and paper goods were orange and green to go along with our theme.
A custom made wreath hung on the door and screamed, Wild Thing Luke lives here! He even had his cute little picture on it!
The flower pots at the entry way had custom designed, matching signs.
A wall was dedicated to Luke, showing each picture from month 1 to month 12. We got the theme from these pics, as each month, I took a picture of Luke with his Wild Thing doll to show his growth progress.
The party favors were probably one of the cutest! We filled lime green and while polkadotted boxes with mini Wild Thing dolls and custom t-shirts for each kid. A custom luggage tag hung on the outside of each box, showing who’s favor was who’s (since we have different sized shirts!)
One inch clear, flat floral beads were glued to die cut images from the book and of Luke’s sweet face, and made into magnets for the adults to take home. Each little cloth bag held 4 of these sweet fridge candies.
Playing in the background, we had a mix CD of all “Wild” songs, including “Wild Thing”, “Wild World”, “Walk on the Wild Side”, and “Born to be Wild.” All party hits!
The party was a complete success! If you need any ideas when throwing that perfect party, email us! We have an array of ideas and love to take advantage of a fun theme with great looking accents!
